This term one of our main focuses has been 'Length and Height'. Year 1 have enjoyed exploring this and measuring lots of items within our classroom.
Year 1 have also loved measuring the height of each other.

This week Year 1 have been focusing on using and drawing numbers lines. We have also been exploring numbers between 10 and 20, using ten frames to help recognise and build these numbers.
To start the Spring Term, Year 1 will be focusing on 'Place value within 20' and Year 2 will be focusing on 'Money'. Take a look at our overviews below:

Year 1 have been using objects outside to create 2D shapes and discuss how many sides each shape has.
During October, Year 1 and 2 will be focusing on addition and subtraction. Please see below the overview of what the children will be learning:

To help the children remember key terms such as greater than, less than and equal to, we use a crocodile to check which way our symbol goes.
