In Phonics we have been working hard on growing the code with our Phase 5 sounds.
We have been creating our cave paintings over the last week so that we can start to write about our paintings and plan our retelling of the story.

To start, we read the first two pages and then had to predict what may happen next:
Over the last few weeks we have been reading a book called 'Dear Earth'.
We were very excited to see that an explorer had visited our classroom and left their items for us to explore.
The book focuses on a character who wants to explore and help heal our Earth, so we have been discussing why Earth is special to us.
We thought about how we could help the Earth and designed leaflets about this and also discussed where in the world we would visit if we were an explorer.
