Cannington C of E Primary School

Diocese of Bath & Wells

Welcome

Dear Visitor,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our school, a place where we work together to nurture the minds, bodies, and spirits of all children and adults who enter through our doors.

We are incredibly proud of our children and are committed to supporting their growth as we seek to bring to life our shared vision.

Our school is a place where everyone is welcome, where we celebrate the unique, support the need, and seek for all to 'Grow, Thrive, Flourish' following our vision statement drawn from Psalm 92 V12-15.

We aim to promote the many opportunities learning brings, recalling the words of Michaelangelo who, at 87 said "I am still learning".

I hope you will enjoy exploring our school online and look forward to meeting you.

Kindest wishes,

Mrs Claire Nurse

Headteacher

Our School

Cannington Church of England Primary School was originally established in 1856 and the Church School we know today opened in 1924.  We are situated in the heart of the village on a large site having our own playing fields and a range of outdoor learning spaces. Our school buildings include classrooms, a library area, a computer suite, a main hall, a staffroom, and an intervention room all of which are accessible.

Children benefit from well-developed school grounds including a wildlife area, an outdoor seating area, and large green spaces. We are proud of our status as a Church of England School and work in partnership with The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Cannington and The Diocese of Bath and Wells to deliver an education founded on Christian values.

Key Values

We especially focus on four key values – friendship, forgiveness, trust, and hope.

Friendship

Love each other like brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honour and respect. (Romans 12:10)

Forgiveness

Do not be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive them. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)

Trust

Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don't be afraid. The Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go. (Joshua 1:9)

Hope

May the God who gives hope fill you with great joy. May you have perfect peace as you trust in him. May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope. (Romans 15:13)
