Welcome
Dear Visitor,
Welcome to our school. Whether you are a long-standing member of our community, a new family exploring what we offer, or simply visiting our website for the first time, we are delighted to welcome you.
Our school is a place where everyone is valued and included; a place where everyone is welcome, where we celebrate the unique, support the need, and seek for all to “Grow, Thrive, Flourish”. This guiding vision, drawn from Psalm 92:12–15, shapes the heart of our school and inspires us each day. It reminds us that, like the flourishing palm tree, every child can grow strong, supported by nurture, encouragement, and rich learning experiences.
As a small village primary school with a strong church ethos, we take pride in our warm, family atmosphere. We know our children well, we champion their strengths, and we walk alongside them as they develop confidence, curiosity, resilience, and kindness. Our dedicated staff are committed to providing an education that is both academically ambitious and deeply rooted in Christian values, ensuring each child is supported to reach their full potential.
We cherish our close links with our parish church and wider village community, working together to create a school where children feel secure, inspired, and loved. Our curriculum, collective worship, and daily interactions reflect our belief that every child is unique and precious.
We hope that our website gives you a sense of who we are—but nothing compares to experiencing our school in person. We warmly encourage you to visit us, meet our wonderful children and staff, and see our ethos in action.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.
With every blessing,
Miss Marie Marchant
Headteacher
Our School
Children benefit from well-developed school grounds including a wildlife area, an outdoor seating area, and large green spaces. We are proud of our status as a Church of England School and work in partnership with The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Cannington and The Diocese of Bath and Wells to deliver an education founded on Christian values.
Key Values
We especially focus on six key values – Love, Forgiveness, Trust, Hope, Respect and Perseverance.
Love
Love each other like brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honour and respect. (Romans 12:10)Forgiveness
Do not be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive them. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)Trust
Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don't be afraid. The Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go. (Joshua 1:9)Hope
May the God who gives hope fill you with great joy. May you have perfect peace as you trust in him. May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope. (Romans 15:13)Respect
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 22:39)
Perseverance
Let us run with patience the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)
